Mr. Reimer Lego League – LEGO League is a team competition where students design, build, and program a robot to complete assigned tasks on a playing field with different obstacles. Also students work closely together to research a given topic and present their findings and innovations in a 5-minute presentation to a panel of judges. The season runs from the beginning of the school year through November, meeting twice a week. Contact Mr. Reimer with any questions  
Ms. Brown Tip Squad  All students are encouraged to join Tip Squad. Members of the squad do many school spirit activities like cheering at athletic events, wearing the mascot costume, and decorating lockers of athletes. See Ms. Brown for more information.  
Mrs. Mellgren International Club International Club begins! International Club is a club for students that enjoy experiencing other countries and cultures. International club offers fun, music, culture, crafts, sports, and community service.  It is a great way to make new friends and build the diversity of our school! Mr. Counts or Mr. Reese Ski Club - The Ski Club is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Tipler. The cost is approximately $100.00 for 4 ski trips including transportation, lifts and rentals. Registration will be in late November with the first trip in late December. Start saving $$ now. Contact Mr. Reese or Mr. Counts with any questions.  
Mrs. Pfaff Yearbook Club 6th, 7th, and 8th graders meet weekly, starting in October, to create the yearbook. Planning, photography, layouts, and writing are all done by students. The entire book is created using a software program. An annual contest has student artists creating the cover for a chance to win a free yearbook. Please see Mrs. Pfaff with any questions.  
Mr. Bosovic Tiger TV Tiger TV is a club where 7th and 8th grade students meet daily, starting in September, to produce a monthly newscast. Students meet everyday during noon hour to decide on their segments/roles. Students will write scripts for segments, conduct interviews, plan segments and record it all for the monthly newscasts. All newscasts are aired in classrooms each month. Contact Mr .Bosovic for more information.  
Mrs. Meyer Art Club Art Club began prior to the 1999 - 2000 school year, when Mrs. Meyer, the advisor, first came to Tipler. Since then it has evolved from a club where the same students meet weekly to work on art projects, to sessions where students sign up and work if they have an interest in that session. Art Club offers roughly five to six sessions per school year. Students in grades six through eight are welcome to sign up. Please contact Ms. Meyer with any questions.  
Ms. Moenning Math Club – The online math league (OML) offers 3 fun challenging math contests throughout the school year. Contests are offered in levels ranging from 2nd grade up to Algebra and are aligned with common core standards and include a variety of problems of varying difficulty so all students are appropriately challenged. Please note that OASD has chosen to take part in only the 5th through 8th grade portion of this OML at this time. Students will take all contests and practice tests online, receiving immediate feedback about how they’ve done. Participation includes access to a vast online practice area! Mrs. Lee-Held and Mrs. Bredesen Student Council The Student Council is made up of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Students are encouraged to join in order to have a voice in what happens in our school environment. It is the purpose of the Student Council to experience the democratic process, to give students a voice in school matters, to share in the responsibilities to the community in which we live, and to promote better communication between all levels of the school. Leadership skills are highly stressed. Please see Mrs. Kuester if you have any questions.
